Deleting projects

With lexiCan you organize knowledge and information in projects. A projects is a collection of articles on one or more topics. Therefore everything starts with the creation of a project and a corresponding empty data set. In principle you can create as many projects as you like. The only limit here is the amount of memory available to you.

Creating projects

To do this, click on "File" in the upper left corner and then on "New". This leads you to the following view.

Define the name and the desired location ("folder") for the project and then click on "Create Project".

You can also use cloud storage as a storage location. The important thing is that this can be selected via Windows Explorer.

You can define specific properties for your project. On this see the section "Information" in the article "General Settings and Central Functions".

Managing projects (data sets)

A project consists of a folder named after the project, filled with several subfolders and files (see also Structure and Content of a Project's Data Set). The main folder can be copied at any time (see also Backing up Projects). It is also possible to move the folder. Please note that the (automatic) opening of a project (Program Settings) is affected because lexiCan remembers the last storage location of a project. After moving a project you have to open it via its start file (see Opening Projects).

Renaming projects

Renaming a knowledge area is done via the properties in the main menu.

Deleting projects

A project cannot be deleted from lexiCan for security reasons. To delete a project, you have to delete the folder named according to the project via Windows Explorer. The storage location can be found in lexiCan via the properties of the project.
